A new show for addicts of great tv
23 Nov 2011
Homeland is a brand new show with another cool tv heroine, Claire Danes making a smoking comeback as a CIA-agent with an incendiary suspicion against America’s new found war hero. Oh, and an addiction to antipsychotic drugs.
A war hero, maybe, maybe not turned terrorist for al-Qaeda. A CIA-agent, hiding a secret investigation on him to her boss, as well as her use of antipsychotic drugs. That’s all it takes to set up a breathtaking plot and an excellent thriller series.

What's a little drug abuse, if you save your country? Claire Danes embodies a cool new, and pretty complex, terrorist-chasing tv heroine.
Homeland is a new tv show created for American Showtime, that adresses post-9-11 culture into a thrilling tv show where nobody are what they seem.
CIA-agent Carrie Mathison, Claire Danes, is called back from Iraq after an illegal operation that has taught her, al-Qaeda has managed to turned an American ’assett’.
At the same time, prisoner of war Nicholas Brody is found after eight years, and brought back home a grand hero, warmly welcomed by an administration with an unpopular war story.
The casting is brilliant, as well as the cast, whose male lead is Band of Brothers’ brave boy scout Damien Lewis. Again he plays the war hero, but this time with a remarkably dark side, perhaps ‘just’ caused by of eight years of torture, and coming home to find his best friend comfortably hanging out with his wife and kids. Perhaps by something spookier than that. The show’s main character is Claire Danes in a sexy comeback role as the dedicated agent, who can’t really tell her employers, that she is wrestling with a mental disease.
And still, I haven’t mentioned the excellent plotting, twisting and surprising, as it is, and accompanied by superb dialogue. Oh, and should I remind you, that millions of lives are at stake?
You can catch your new tv addiction on Swedish channel 1 – tonight at 22.00, I promise it will do you good.
